Rieco Titan Camper jack repair
Переглядів 40 тис.13 років тому
In this video, I show a Rieco Titan hydraulic camper jack that I disassembled (lower jack portion). The jack had began leaking; I replaced an O-ring and hopefully solved the problem. This will show you a little more about the workings and simple repair procedures for this jack. (P.S. as of May 8, 2011 the repair is holding, jack's not leaking. An O-ring did the trick!
Thank you. I thought about replacing my Rieco jacks but thanks to your video I’ll rebuild them.
Does the pilot go out if a wisp of wind hits it (10mph, 20mph)?
Man, removing the nut is where we are struggling. It is impossible! We’ve tried heat, WD-40, standing on it. What a pain. Thanks for the video though!
I heard you say you need ventilation. Isn't there some natural ventilation in a garage, no garage is air tight, I didn't see you garage door open, so I am wondering how much ventilation you need. I see my garage door has a small opening at the top of the door that meets the garage wall, would that be sufficient?
just saved me 1000 bucks! thought i was gonna have to buy all new jacks!
Got my patio heater on a 100lb too. Got another 100 in the detached garage
The perfect ingredients for burning your house down. Open flames and gasoline jugs. BOOM!!!!!!
You do not know where a Product is Manufactured, on the first go around, either. Small World.
I got this heater but came with no house, what did you use to connect to your 100 pound cilinder? I also have 25 pounds propane cilinders
To bad your video didn't show the internal parts and the o-ring size ?
*crosses fingers* Hopefully mine is that straightforward. Any chance of getting a link to those service manuals? I cant find them
Awesome video, thanks a million. I have 4 that are all leaking. I wanted to put my camper on this weekend but I couldn't get the camper jacked up. I got two old spares when I bought my camper last summer and they are also leaking. Thank you again......
Can you use a regular phone wire on a reico titan electric Jack? The Squirrels chewed ours
Great view but never leave gas cans in your garage
You mean like the one attached to your car??
Do you still have those repair instructions?
Thank you all for the comments. This did in fact take care of the problem and the jack worked fine until I sold the camper a few years after this video. Easy fix!
if your red gas cans or car leaks you are screwed!
Picked one up at Home Depot $100 +/- works FANTASTIC!!!!!
Thanks for the video. Hopefully my leak will be that simple. It's nice to know what I'm getting into before I dive into it at the shop
What size is the o-ring you used to repair the jack?
Carl Arnatt: you ever find out the oring size?
Erich Slentz Nope. Not yet.
Thanks for putting up the video, surprised they still make and sell these, I have one that may need some tlc.
hi i just bought one from home depot and cant get it to light big "pop" of flame but then won light i wish you would sow how to actually light it :)
ginacardarella he does starting around 3:00.
Mine doesn't have the igniter button. Just the dial. I'm so confused
The self venting 100 lb propane tank 5 feet away not at all a issue?? Optimal combustion range for propane still at 14 parts atmospheric air to 1 part propane vapour? Will the tank pressure not vent as the temperature comes up?Should the tank not be outside, or should I shut up and get the feckin hot dogs????
Dru Sjodin HILARIOUS
I know this is old. but I have this heater it is absolutely amazing. I live in Canada where I have an unheated garage and temperatures where I live can regularly hit -20 C to - 35 C. this heater heats up my garage in about 5 or 10 minutes awesome heater
TiF 974 yes that should work just fine in your garage buddy thanks for the comment
Excellent, thanks for the video.
Why wouldn't you cut a vent in your existing nat gas finance plenum.open it when you want heat in there and close it when you don't . A lot safer and cheaperl
This thing is great for water pipes during the winter time.
OK so after 4 years what is the verdict? Still happy with it? I have a considerably smaller garage but high ceiling and no wall insulation and modest insulation in the door. I have seen this one and its bigger brother on sale here due to the mild winter so want to pick one up to use in garage for man cave cigar smoke zone . I have used smaller ones and found they do work but burn through the 20lb cylinders quite quickly. I think if I crank this one up for 30 minutes I can then just turn it down while in the garage but we are only in there for 1-1.5 hrs. Let me know if you have had any issues please.
Works just fine... !
I know i'm getting here a few years late but my question wasn't asked. Any thoughts about how it performed when you have objects in the area such as a car, tool boxes, shelves and so on?
thank you for the video
Thanks for the video.
alright so i just bought this same heater and my parents think that it is either A. going to blow up the garage or B. kill me with carbon monoxide poisoning. whatdya think?
A. Only way it will blow up is if you dont have a regulator inline for the propane tank or theres explosive vapors in the air such as gasoline vapors. B. for carbon monoxide go to menards and buy a decent CO detector and have some ventilation in your garage. hope this helps, i have a torpedo heater, wall mount ventless blue flame, and a cabinet heater and after 4 years im still alive, its all just about using common sense and being smart with the heaters.
right close to some gasoline
NEVER use one of these things inside.... you mention no odor or smell and not concerned about burning inside: Carbon monoxide is odorless, colorless, and tasteless not smart to do this without ventillation
My problem is "up stick" and the valve for jacking or letting down is leaking out of there. Need to find those papers on your desk!
Not generally, but when you turn it from low to hi it roars up pretty good. I mean, you don't want to put ANYTHING near this heater that is flammable. It should only be used in a good clear area. Having said that, my amigos and I have sat around it like you would a small campfire with no problems. My dog walks a little too close to it from time to time and gets a little singed hair :-)
No, I would not. If anything, I'd run it wide open in the garage and leave the door between house and garage open to put some heat into the house that way.
I would not use this in the house unless it were a dire emergency; in which case I'd leave a window cracked and be very careful about where I set it. After all, this is an OPEN FLAME... you would not want to set it on your shag carpet!
Glad to help... still enjoying the heater; it works great in the garage.
I make sure to keep the heater a safe distance from anything that will go Boom. It has not been a problem. :-)
i noticed the gas cans,id put those in the shed
YES! Amen......and didn't see the fire extinguisher
Dude, do NOT sleep with this on inside of any place. It burns fuel, and makes alot of CarbonMonoxide, that will kill you in your sleep.
klasse2bub not meant for that kind of heat. More of a garage or shop heater not for the house
Thanks for the vid. I've got those same jacks but did'nt know what they were till now. I need to replace all the pumping hardwhear as mine broke loose and fell out when driving. Guess i'll check out that repair kit you mentioned in the vid.
Nice job, just what I needed to see. Thanks
Thanks for posting this video. Don't know if my are the same kind but they look like yours. This is very helpful. again thanks
